Despite overwhelming evidence, Senator Mark Begich (D., Alaska) denied having attacked Republican Ted Stevens in attack ads during the 2008 Senate campaign. The issue came up during a debate Thursday night between Begich and Dan Sullivan. Sullivan questioned Begich regarding wrongful accusations against Stevens and whether Begich regretted running the incorrect attack ads. Begich, presumably hoping no one with access to Youtube was paying attention boldly stated, I didnt run attack ads. Two of Begichs ads attacking Stevens are still available online here and here.
