Earlier this month, Gov. Bill Walker announced that his budget proposal would call for the elimination of 329 government jobs across the state of Alaska. The Legislature has yet to have its say. Three hundred and twenty-nine sounds like a big number, but put it into context and it becomes a whole lot smaller. Still – small or large is little comfort to the people who will soon be fired by the State of Alaska.
