Justice Dana Fabe has announced plans to retire June 1. Fabe was the first woman appointed to serve on the court.
The Alaska Judicial Council released the names of the applicants and biographical information for them on Friday.
They are: Ruth Botstein, an assistant attorney general; Susan Carney, a supervising attorney for the Office of Public Advocacy; private practice attorneys Kevin Clarkson and Jahna Lindemuth; superior court judges Andrew Guidi, Philip Pallenberg and Paul Roetman; and David Avraham Voluck, who teaches law and is a part-time tribal court judge.
The council will evaluate the candidates, including conducting background checks and personal interviews, and at least two nominees will be sent to Gov. Bill Walker for his selection.
