Palmer Council Member Richard W. Best files for House District 11. His campaign announced yesterday that the longtime City of Palmer Council Member is running for Shelley Hughes’ empty seat.
Richard, an oil field engineer and lifelong Alaskan has raised his family in Palmer with his wife Vonda and has served the City of Palmer for many years. Running for House District 11 will be an exciting new adventure for Richard and his family.
“We are looking forward to this new step in our lives. As our daughters get ready to graduate from high school, this opportunity to further serve our community is right for our family now,” stated Best.
Richard has a proven history in local government, commitment to the community, and experience facilitating dialogue for positive changes. Richard is a registered Republican, fiscal conservative, and brings with him, energy, family values and the desire to work diligently on behalf of the district.
Richard said, “I filed to show a qualified and good person is ready to run for House District 11, a very important decision especially as we see incumbent, Representative Shelly Hughes set her sights on the Senate seat. My goal is to be the Best Choice for the valley and work hard to address the fiscal crisis and bring balance between needs and a healthy and positive future for our families.”
