Jordan Brown, a self-identified gay pastor, walked into a Whole Foods store in Austin a week or so ago and ordered a cake with the words “Love Wins” written on it. He took the cake, went through checkout and went home.
When he got home, he was shocked, simply shocked that someone had written the word “Fag” in the center of the frosting on the top of the cake. He brought the cake back, outraged at the anti-gay slur and demanded compensation. He posted a video claiming anti-gay bigotry out of Whole Foods.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the expected large caliber payday and public acclaim at being a LGBT victim. Whole Foods strongly responded that they didn’t do anything to the cake, and would be taking legal action against Brown and his attorney for a fraudulent claim.
It turns out that the bakery employee who handled the cake was a LGBT member. There is also video of the checkout showing Brown checking out with the cake. Discrepancies between the two videos include differing colors of the box and differing locations for the label.
This is a pretty good response out of Whole Foods, which would be expected to fold like a cheap suit. Instead, they promise legal action and posted the checkout video (probably with advice of counsel).
Interesting how many so-called anti-gay hate crimes turn out to be manufactured out of thin air by the aggrieved gay. The abundance of hoax anti-gay slurs being done by gays is similar to the hoax of racial slur claims made by blacks who are grinding their personal racial axes.
As this guy also self identifies as a pastor, it does make you wonder which god he is worshiping and which good book he is preaching from.
