A past business relationship between Gov. Bill Walker and a judge is being called into question by Republican legislators who are locked in a legal battle with the governor over his unilateral expansion of Medicaid access. “There are some really great attorneys that now have gone on to their own firms. Some are on the bench,” Walker said. “I see Judge Pfiffner there, a managing partner of Hughes, Thorsness, Gantz, Powell, and Brundin – we’ve had a great legal career and were able to work together in that process.”
