Gov. Bill Walker went out of his way to compliment the House minority caucus for the work they had done. In conference committee prior to gaveling out, the Democrats were offered $35 million for any program they wanted, plus a walk-back of the reductions in education, if they would only vote to pass the budget.
As with last year, Democrats keep moving the goal posts at the last minute, adding more and more things they call non negotiable. Even with the power-sharing offered to them by House leadership, they have acted with the same partisan gamesmanship as in prior years.
Once again, the Democrats are holding the whole state hostage, and pointing fingers at the bipartisan majority. It’s a reckless game of chicken with real lives at stake.
