Getting opponents to sign up by June 1, always difficult, is much harder with the Legislature still in session. We still don’t know the outcome of the biggest state government decision in a generation. The economic future of Alaska depends on secret negotiations that are not over.
We need people who view office as service to our state rather than as a way to get ahead or inflate their egos. That’s the best reason to run. Because you love Alaska and you are willing to sacrifice to make it better. And, if that is your motivation, then it probably doesn’t matter if the Legislature adjourns before June 1 or not. We already know we need new leadership. – Charles Wohlforth
